PagePilot ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle and protect information when you use the PagePilot mobile application (the "Service").
1. Information Collection and Use
PagePilot is designed around a local-first privacy model:
- Personal information: We do not collect, store, or upload personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
- Books and reading progress: Imported EPUB and PDF files, reading progress, highlights, and bookmarks remain on your device. We do not operate cloud servers to collect or store your books or reading data.
- Reading statistics: Daily reading time, streaks, and other statistics are stored locally in the app database using SQLite/GRDB.
2. Device Connections and Remote Control (Apple Watch)
When you use Apple Watch as a remote control to turn pages on iPhone or iPad, communication is handled through Apple’s local WatchConnectivity framework. The connection uses local network or Bluetooth communication and does not pass through external servers. We do not record, upload, or monitor your remote-control commands or behavior.
3. Third-Party Services and Data
The Service uses Apple StoreKit to process PagePilot Pro subscriptions and purchases. Apple processes payments; we cannot access or store your credit card information or raw payment credentials. We use StoreKit only to verify subscription status and unlock corresponding features.
4. Data Security
Because your data is stored locally, its security depends primarily on your device security. Use a strong device passcode and biometric protection to help prevent unauthorized access.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page, and we recommend reviewing it periodically.
